Tehran: Bunji Jumping

Modern and traditional, secular and religious, rich and poor

Iran's first bungee-jumping venue is on the Tochal Mountain, a popular leisure spot for Tehranis. For now, founder Houman Hoviatdoust is accepting only male customers. Still the influx of adventure sports like bungee jumping is at least showing signs of the change we hear so much about the prospects of in Tehran. Although women aren’t allowed (their screams would be unsuitable for the public domain apparently), bungee jumping in Tehran is now possible, on the ski resorts, a world away from the restricting city it towers above.
