Tasmania: When to Book

Whether it is a bed and breakfast, hotel, apartment, or hostel, if you want to go to Tasmania during the peak holiday periods between December and February (especially on the coast), you need to think about booking your accommodation at least a few weeks in advance. Tasmania has cold and wet winters (June-August) and warm and sunny summers (December-February). There is a great regional variation in the temperatures as the inland areas tend to have lower temperatures. The best time to travel to Tasmania is in summer when the weather is warm and sunny. However, this is also the time when prices are at their highest because of greater demand and advance booking is recommended.
