Switzerland: Horse Riding

A summer and winter sports paradise

Switzerland Horse Riding

There are plenty of opportunities for horse riding during a stay in Switzerland. You could, for instance, take a two or three-day trail through the alps in the Engadin-Munster Valley, staying overnight in Swiss Chalets, with the San John ranch, or let the children enjoy pony riding in a beautiful setting. Western-style riding is very popular in Switzerland, and there are lots of schools offering horse riding lessons.

If you have younger children, a walk with a donkey will lead you along pretty paths and green valleys. Donkeys are gentle and can carry small children safely, enabling them to explore the region without becoming too tired, as they can climb onto their gentle companion for a rest whenever they want to. You’ll also get the chance to ride in a horse-drawn sleigh at several ski resorts in Switzerland, including Davos. For details of local horse riding activities, contact the local tourism office during your holiday in Switzerland.
