Sweden: Fishing

For many anglers, Sweden is as close to a fishing paradise as one can get: the abundance of fish varieties, unpolluted water and beautiful countryside means that Sweden has become a very popular fishing destination. Sweden offers anglers a range of catch, from bream and salmon, to grayling, pike and perch in the country’s lakes, rivers and mountain waters. Sea trout fishing starts in January and peaks in April, while the Morrumsan River in southern Sweden is great for salmon fishing in May – It isn’t unheard of for anglers to reel in 20kg salmon at this time of the year.
