Sweden: Cycling - Mountain Biking

Given its eco-friendly outlook, it’s no surprise that Sweden’s attitude to bikes is a favourable one. It is also one of the safest places to cycle in Europe. There are quite a few National Cycle Routes in Sweden which are fairly well marked, although they do sometimes disappear for no apparent reason. Cycle routes are indicated by black signs in local areas, while national signs are blue; they, unfortunately, provide nothing more than the name of the route. In some parts of Sweden it is possible to take your bike on buses and trains.
