Stockholm: Population

Stockholm’s inner city has a population of circa 810,000, with an urban population of 1,250,000 and metropolitan area of almost 2 million, about 21% of the entire population of Sweden. The population of Stockholm is quite young, cosmopolitan and educated, with around 28% having a ethnic background other than Swedish, mostly from Finland, the former Yugoslavia, Denmark, Norway, Greece, Turkey and the Middle East.
