Stockholm: Fishing

Fishing is quite popular recreational activity in Stockholm. For instance, fishing for salmon from bridges in downtown Stockholm is not unheard of. Tourists or visitors to Stockholm may fish almost anywhere, but first must buy a local fishing license. Fishing is prohibited in some spots, however, such as river mouths on the Baltic Sea, or Lake Mälaren. Salmon, trout, pike, perch, and eel, may only be caught if they are over a certain size. Check tourist offices for specific rules and fishing tours.
