Sardinia: Sailing

The Little Continent

Sardinia Sailing

The geographical location of Sardinia allows it to be the perfect place for sailing boats. The numerous isolated coves, dazzling beaches, and lively harbours provide a great setting for sailing enthusiasts but the island surprisingly remains a fairly unidentified sailing global destination. Wind conditions from the north are usually constant allowing Sardinia to be home to many national and international annual sailing events and competitions each year. Thousands of sailing fanatics are attracted to the glamorous Costa Smeralda for its remarkable scenery and sophisticated yacht clubs and bars. Porto Pollo and Isola dei Gabbiani offer superb sailing conditions and also cater for water sports enthusiasts with a number of activities including surfing, diving, wind surfing, kite surfing, and canoeing. The neighbouring island of Corsica is a great place to visit for a short sailing excursion.
