Samos: Couples Holiday

A couples holiday in Samos offers wonderful, dry weather from May to September, a wide range of accommodation to suit every budget, 160km of coastline with lots of beaches, plus a wealth of heritage sights to explore if you tire of your hotel. Food and drink is tasty and reasonably priced and there are direct flights to and from the UK. If you’re planning a winter holiday, it’s not ideal since there’s some rain from December to January.

Many say that the best time to visit is mid-April to June, when the flowers are in bloom but the weather isn’t unbearably hot. There are lots of activities on offer in Samos. The main resorts offer a wide range of water sports and there are many pleasant walking and hiking trails to follow in the hills. There are some interesting shops to browse, offering lace, leather, rugs, ouzo and wine, among other things. If you get itchy feet, there are loads of boat trips to other Greek islands on offer, and you can even go on a day trip to Turkey to see the famous Ephesus.

One word of warning – if you’ve got your heart set on the picture postcard sandy beach for your couples holiday in Samos, bear in mind that a lot of the beaches in Samos are pebbly, so double-check before booking. Samos gets busy in high season, so make sure you book everything in advance if you intend to visit then.
