(Ro-dos in Greek)
Kite surfing is particularly popular in Rhodes and is a sport enjoyed by many of the young locals. Kremasti bay on the west coast of the island offers lessons to those hoping to enjoy kite surfing in Rhodes thanks to its relatively empty waters and a long, clear shore-line. Lessons in kite surfing in Rhodes are generally carried out in small groups of four to six people per instructor for practicing theory on the beach and of two to four people per instructor for training in the water. The first stage is taught on the beach with the helix training kite. Wind surfing in Rhodes is also popular particularly on the beach of Ixia, about 3km from Rhodes town. The bay is located on the north-west coast of Rhodes and has something for all levels of wind surfer.
