Quebec: Spectator Sports

ice hockey, by catching the Montreal Canadiens (Habs as they are fondly known by fans) in action at the Bell Centre. The Montreal Canadiens are one of the original six hockey teams that began the National Hockey League in 1917. Since, Quebec has won the coveted Stanley Cup 24 times and is one of the most loved hockey teams of all time. If hockey isn’t too you’re liking (don’t let anyone in Quebec, or Canada for that matter hear you) you can catch a Canadian football game and watch the Quebec Alouettes compete for the Grey Cup from July to November.

Quebec also hosts its version of the Indy 500, the Grand Prix car race that sweeps through the city for 3 days every summer. Quebec enjoys world class curling and runs a number of cycling activities including the Montreal Bike Fest, and Tour de l'Ile de Montreal (the largest gathering of cyclists in North America. The Roger's Cup, one of nine tennis tournaments on the Masters circuit also comes to Quebec in the beginning of August.
