Munich: Gay and Lesbian
Folklore and age-old traditions with sleek BMWs, designer boutiques and modern people
Munich is one of the most popular destinations for a gay and lesbian holiday thanks to its extensive facilities. Homosexuality is accepted, but outside of Munich in the Bavarian countryside, residents may be less tolerant due to the area being predominantly Catholic. For a gay and lesbian holiday in Munich, hotels that cater exclusively for gays and lesbians are limited in Munich, but there are two venues situated at Gartnerplatzviertel which are Deutsche Eiche (a single room costs from €64 to €74) and the Pension Eulenspiegel guesthouse which is located near to the city’s nightlife in the so-called ‘Bermuda Triangle,’ formed by Sendlinger Tor, Gartnerplatz and the Isartor.
