Montreal is in the province of Quebec, Canada and is approximately 275 kilometres southwest of Quebec City (Quebec's provincial capital).The city sits on the Island on Montreal between the St. Lawrence river and the Riviere des Prairies. The city is identified by Mount Royal, a three-headed hill at the heart of the city.
