Malaysia has many luxury and economy class hotels, enough to tempt any traveller looking for comfort and awe in equal measure. Many new luxury hotels have recently been built in Kuala Lumpur. It is necessary to book well in advance when looking to book a break in Malaysia, especially during school and public holidays when the Malaysians take their holidays in the popular resorts; notably Penang, Langkawi and the highlands. While there are no shortage of quality and affordable hotels across both territories of Malaysia, the more basic hotels provide little in the way of modern washing or bathing facilities, often only offering a water trough instead of a bath or shower. A new official grading system was introduced in 2007, in which hotels are awarded 1-5 stars or an orchid rating if they do not qualify for a star. However, regardless of your taste or budget, you will find plenty to charm and entertain when looking for a hotel break in Malaysia.
