Malawi: Nightlife

Blantyre and Lilongwe have various clubs and bars, which are usually worth visiting if you want to meet some new friends in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere. Dancing is very popular!

Outside of the cities there is little nightlife in the European sense. Some restaurants have entertainment, as do some of the hotels but outside Blantyre and Lilongwe this will usually take the form of a traditional dance or display at the lakeshore hotels.

The beach bars around the lake are often a good place to party, staying open until late with a mix of locals and tourists alike. Reggae music is particularly popular.
