The geography of Majorca is best described as an island with a mountainous landscape, sandy beaches and rugged cliffs. Majorca is the largest of the Balearic archipelago and the terrain is generally low lying on the south coast but as you move towards the northwest it gradually changes to the mountain ranges of Tramontana. There are over 70 beaches on the island of Majorca and the longest is Alcudia stretching 3400m in length.
