Gran Via and Sol are the shopping areas and the most prominent are the Inditex chains owned by Amancio Ortega Gaona, such as Zara, Pull & Bear and Stradivarius. Shopping in Madrid is considered excellent and famous clothes horses like the Beckham’s and other footballers and their wives often like to go shopping in Madrid. There are also the traditional and artisan crafts to be bought, such as locally made jewellery, paintings and leather goods found in almost every corner of the city, alongside the modern shopping experience of the Principe Pio shopping centre, as well as the popular Zara and Mango stores. There are also lots of fascinating markets in which to explore and bag a bargain to take home.
