Madrid: Golf

Madrid is exceptionally well equipped for the keen golfer. It has courses located deep in breathtaking countryside and all are excellently air conditioned, even in very hot weather, which is often the case in the city. There are about twenty golf clubs in Madrid; some of them being strictly private though, where polo can also be played but, where visitors have to be accompanied by a member and respect very strict rules set down by the club.

Luckily for those wanting to book a golfing holiday in Madrid, there are many other open courses and golfing in Madrid is an enjoyable way in which to spend your break. The Club de Campo Villa Madrid is considered as one of the most important sport complexes in the whole of Europe and offers two 18-hole and a 9-hole par-3. Located at a short distance from the centre of Madrid, along the Carreterra de Castilla, the courses have been built over about 250 hectares of lush hills encasing the Spanish Agricultural Research Centre.
