Lisbon Population

Lisbon has a population of about 560,000, not including the surrounding administrative districts of Greater Lisbon, which are home to around 2.6 million inhabitants. Portuguese is the official language in Portugal, while Spanish, English and French are often understood amongst the educated in Lisbon, as well as those working in the tourist sector. Lisbon is home to many immigrants from Brazil and other Lusophone (Portu-guese speaking) nations such as Angola, Cape Verde and Mozambique. The Lisbon region is the wealthiest region in Portugal and boasts a GDP well above the European Union per capita average.
