Lisbon: Crime

Lisbon is generally a very safe city, especially during the day, though petty crime such as pick-pocketing and drug pushing is a nuisance. Pickpockets target tourists! At night it is best to be extra careful in areas such as Martim Moniz and Chiado Plaza. Lisbon and Portugal in general have low violent crime rates, but drug related crime, robberies and car break-ins do happen and should be guarded against.
