Lisbon: Shopping
Beautiful views, majestic monasteries, quaint cafe's and more

Lisbon is a vibrant shopping city which has shown a marked improvement over the last 10-20 years. While some of the city’s small boutiques have given way to large shopping malls full of international brands and stores, Lisbon still maintains a strong local identity and craft industry. High end and designer shopping can be done on the attractive streets of Chiado and in the chic department store El Corte Inglés, located be-tween Parque Eduardo VII and the Gulbenkian.
Lisbon is also home to several gigantic shopping malls such as Vasco da Gama shopping center, Colombo and nearby Cascais Shopping. Prices tend to be slightly lower than in the rest of the European Union, but not necessarily for high-end articles. Traditional ceramics or tiles (azulejos) and other handicrafts, can be purchased throughout the city and metropolitan area, particularly in Bairro Alto, Chiado and Sintra.
