Lisbon: Fishing
Beautiful views, majestic monasteries, quaint cafe's and more

Fishing is common in the fresh water rivers, lakes and dams of Lisbon, Estoril and Cascais, as well as sea fishing on the beaches and on boats off the coast. A license is required to fish in Portugal and special li-censes are available to visiting foreigners from the Ministry of Agricultural and Fisheries via local munici-pal authorities (city halls). Popular fishing spots include River Tejo (Tagus) tributaries, beaches, deep sea and inshore fishing along the coast. It is also common to see locals snorkeling and spear fishing.
