Guatemala: When to Book
Land of Eternal Spring

Guatemala is situated in the tropics, this means that the weather patterns are very different from Europe or North America. The good thing about this is that you can really visit Guatemala at any time of the year. If you go between late October and early April, during the dry season, you may find the climate overly hot in the jungles of the Peten. Equally, if you travel travelling during the rainy season, between May and October, you may find the jungles too swampy and muddy. Despite its tropical location, the nights in the highlands in Guatemala can be cold. You will find prices for hotels etc. more expensive in the high seasons. The main one is between December and April, with peaks in tourism during Christmas and Easter. A second high season takes place between June and August. It may be best to book ahead for accommodation at these times.
