Guatemala is one of the cheapest countries to visit in Central America. Even though the UK pound has dropped in value on the foreign currency markets, the British traveller will still find many bargains here. If you are on a budget, you should be able to get by in Guatemala on about £10 per day without too many difficulties. Off-peak travel will often enable you to get the best deals, as will travelling with a companion because the difference between the price of a single and double room is seldom great.
