You will find medium priced restaurants offering meals for around £5.50 upwards in Guatemala City and cheaper fare in other parts of the country. Budget restaurants and fast food outlets are easy to find too in Guatemala . You can often fill up with tacos and other fare for as little as £1.50 to £2, in many cafes and cheaper restaurants. If you feel like something a little different, why not try a Chinese meal? Guatemala’s larger towns and cities have an abundance of Chinese restaurants. Of course, you may prefer to savour local delights and delicacies in Guatemala.

If you enjoy breakfast, why not try it local style? A Guatemalan breakfast is often an eclectic array of tortillas, black refried beans, fried eggs and mixed fruit, including the purple prickly pear. Not to be missed also is the tamal, a combination of meat, beans and chiles stuffed in corn dough and served in a cornhusk.
