Goa is a small state situated on the western coast of India. Goa is next to the Western Ghats in the east and the Arabian Sea stretches to Goa’s west. Maharashtra borders to the north and Karnataka borders to the south. Panjim (Panaji) is the state capital. Several rivers flow through the state, the main ones are Tiracol, Mandovi, Chapora, Sal, Talpona and Galgibagh. All the rivers originate in the Sayhadri ranges, flowing westward into the Arabian Sea.
