Cyprus Geography

Cyprus is situated in the eastern Mediterranean off the coasts of Greece, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt. The rugged terrain is predominantly dry and the Troodos Mountains, stretching from Pomos Point in the northwest to Larnaca Bay in the east, is the most conspicuous feature of the landscape, peaking at 1952 metres (6,400 feet) with Mount Olympus. The island is 3572 square miles (9240 square kilometres), and has a coastline of 403 square miles (648 square kilometres) lined with lots of golden beaches and intimate bays.
