Cyprus: Hiking - Walking

If you enjoy walking and love the great outdoors, Cyprus has an array of beautiful landscape to explore and spectacular views to see. There are designated walks purpose built for a romantic stroll along the coast with breathtaking views over the ocean and is particularly spectacular at sunset. The more adventurous hiker may be interested in the challenging terrain through the Troodos mountains overlooking distant towns and cities and the surrounding vineyards. Guided tours will take you through the National Forest or the Akamas peninsula though specially designed walking holidays allow you to walk from one hotel to the next at your own pace choosing where you want to stop and rest. There are ramblers clubs in Cyprus that provide maps and advice for hiking through rocky terrain, but if you prefer a more leisurely stroll along dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches and rocky coves there are ample opportunities to discover Cyprus on foot.
