Costa Rica: Population

Costa Rica has a population of about 4.2 million and the main language is Spanish. Ethnic descents are combined by census as 94% white and Mestizo groups with 3% as black. Descent is mostly Spanish, though there are a large number of South Americans who fled to the country in the 70s and 80s due to their violent homelands.
