Costa Rica: Costs

Costa Rica Costs

In Costa Rica you can generally live as cheaply or as expensively as you want, though if you’re just visiting you may find that eating out in particular can be an expensive pastime – especially in built up tourist areas. The sodas are small restaurant/cafe establishments and if you can find the right one, you can get a good meal and a dessert for around 4 Euros – it’s all about trial and error. Supermarkets are generally more expensive than buying food locally in markets, around 30% more on average. As with any tourist haven, if you shop in such areas, you will inevitably pay more, though generally the cost of living is quite low in Costa Rica.
