Canada: When to go

Most people choose to visit Canada in the summertime, when temperatures are pleasant and more conducive to action holidays. But of course, you may choose to visit Canada at any time of year. In most areas, there are fewer tourists between March and May and between September and October, but Canada does have surprisingly pleasant weather during this time. Autumn is also a great time to visit, when forests become cloaked in a spectacular mantle of colour. The snow begins to fall as early as September, and Canadian winters are long and dark, with many attractions staying closed. However, it is a good time to visit a ski-resort in Canada, or go on a city break. Winter carnivals are held in Toronto, Quebec and Winnipeg among others.
