British Columbia: Spectator Sports
From the Capital Victoria to Largest City Vancouver

British Columbia spoils visitors when it comes to spectator sports. In winter you can watch Canada’s favourite sport, ice hockey, by catching the Vancouver Canucks in action at the GM Centre. If hockey isn’t to you’re liking (don’t let anyone in British Columbia, or Canada for that matter hear you) you can catch a Canadian football game and watch the British Columbia Lions or BC Lions are they are called, compete for the Grey Cup from July to November. For a fun-filled cheap afternoon in Vancouver catch the Vancouver Canadians, the local baseball team in action. Vancouver also hosts an annual Dragon Boat Festival in June. Travellers in Penticton can catch a glimpse of the action while watching a triathlon. If you’re in Whistler in April check out the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard festival showcasing competitions for a duration of 10 days; Whislter also holds premier mountain biking events. In 2010 Vancouver and surrounding areas will host the Winter Olympic and Paralypic Games.
